At least three people were killed and eleven more wounded in a mass shooting in Philadelphia. Police say multiple gunmen opened fire just before midnight on Saturday.
According to Lt. D.F. Pace with the Philadelphia Police Department, it happened on South Street near 3rd Street in Downtown.
Police, who were patrolling the area heard gunshots go off, ran to the scene then witnessed “several active shooters shooting into the crowd.”
“You can imagine there were hundreds of individuals just enjoying South Street, as they do every single weekend, when this shooting broke out.”
Pace added that an officer shot at one of the gunmen but wasn’t sure if the suspect was hit,
“We’re uncertain whether he was struck or not, but the officer was able to get that individual to drop his gun and flee.”

Two men and a woman were killed, all of whom were shot multiple times.
Pace said that they recovered at least two firearms at the scene – one equipped with “an extended magazine’ – and were working to determine who the gunman are.
