An Illegal migrant is being charged with sexually abusing a mentally disabled minor.
According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Department, 37-year-old Ricardo Cruz-Mendoza was arrested and is being charged with four counts of sex abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sex offense.
Authorities say that the victim is a 14-year-old child.
Cruz-Mendoza has been placed on a detainer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement through the 287g program and is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said, “This is yet another example of the value of the 287g program to public safety in Frederick County.”
287g enables staff at the ADC to check on the immigration status of those arrested by deputies. If they are here illegally, they can deported.
Biden’s Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas, is attempting to abolish the 287g program essentially turning all counties into sanctuary counties.
