Judge Overturns Election Results After Voter Fraud Scandal, Illegal Votes Cast

An L.A. area city council election was overturned after a judge ruled that illegal votes were cast for Councilman Isaac Galvan in the June 2021 municipal election in Compton, California.

Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams ruled that Incumbent Councilman Galvan will be replaced by challenger Andre Spicer after finding that four of the votes cast for Galvin were made by people who were not legal residents of the district and that Spicer won with a verified vote count of 854 to 851.

Spicer has been contesting the results of the election since last year after losing to Galvan by a single vote.

Spicer told local media he is elated over the decision,

“I’m grateful to the judicial system…..[I’ve] been fighting hard for -for the last 11 months.”

Spicer said it was a relief to expose the voter fraud happening and hopefully the community can “rid ourselves of it.”

The ruling comes after the LA County District Attorney’s Office charged Galvan and five others with conspiracy to commit election fraud last August.

Prosecutors also charged Galvan with bribery with the intent to influence an election for allegedly attempting to bribe an LA Country registrar employee on election night.
