Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass allegedly took money from bankers with ties to Chinese Communist Intelligence – who were then appointed to her mayoral transition advisory team
The Democrat mayor is being accused of taking campaign donations from bankers Dominic Ng and Simon Pang – both of whom have held positions with influence networks of the Chinese Communist Party – specifically The United Front Work Department (UFWD)
According to an investigative report by the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) Ng and Pang donated large amounts of money to Bass’s campaigns and a related nonprofit before being appointed to her mayoral transition advisory team in December 2022.
Experts say the situation is a “huge red flag” for Chinese Communist Party infiltration into U.S. politics.
According to campaign finance records Ng, Pang, and their affiliated banks have donated about of $1 million to Bass’s political efforts and the nonprofit
These contributions came right before she appointed them to the transition team raising questions about quid pro quo.
The mayoral transition advisory team is a group of people tasked with guiding policy and staffing decisions for her administration.
Experts like Gordon Chang, author of “Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America,” told DCNF that “Los Angeles is now a wide-open city for China’s communists,” saying the ties are evidence of CCP efforts to infiltrate U.S. cities.
