Ukrainian President – Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine has only received about $75 billion of the $177 billion in aid that was allegedly sent from the United States. That’s less than half the promised aid funded by U.S. taxpayers.
Zelensky making the remarks in an interview with the Associated Press saying,
“As the president of a country at war, I can say that we have received more than $75 billion [in U.S. aid]. But the claims that Ukraine has received $100 billion out of the $177 billion total, or even $200 billion, as some say, are simply not true,” adding “I don’t know where all this money is… we never received it.”
Meanwhile, In an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman, Zelensky suggested that “lobbying” and “corruption” could be key reasons for not receiving the aid saying he asked Washington to send weapons using Ukraine’s cargo planes and save shipping costs, but they turned him down,
“Is this corruption or not? Or lobbyism?” he asked, but he did not go as far as to make an accusation– reluctant to cause any issues in possible future aid.
