The Mural of the late Charlie Kirk that is painted on the Gunn Central store in South Central El Paso has been vandalized.
You can see the mural if you’re traveling east on I-10.
On it is the face of Turning Point USA co-founder Kirk, along with an American flag and the words “freedom”
Cameron McIntyre, the manager at Gunn Central, said the vandalism happened a couple of nights ago, in the early morning hours.
He said it seemed as though someone used a super-soaker toy to spray paint both the mural of Kirk and on the stores Marquee, something he said goes far beyond property damage
“It was really disrespectful to the memory of Charlie Kirk who was ass*ssinated, but also to the artist spent days and days up there in the sun painting that up there, you know.”
And it was expensive – so whoever decided to deface the mural and disrespect Charlie’s memory – may be looking at some serious charges
“So the mural cost $6,000, the sign that he got pain on and destroyed was $2,200 our marquee is upwards of $20,000 so its easily felony vandalism, its a lot of damage”
McIntyre saying he’s called the police, and filed a report and feels pretty confident the culprit will be caught – since he left some evidence behind.
“The perpetrator left a backpack on scene so they have his fingerprints they have his DNA so its only a matter of time before they catch him, he definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed”
Gunn Central is offering a cash reward of at least $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest – with McIntyre sending a message to those who resort to violence when things don’t go their way
“Just do better, try to educate yourself, and if your side is having to resort to violence and vandalism to get your way then maybe you’re not on the right side of things”
Charlie’s wife Erika Kirk has been personally invited to President Donald Trump’s state of the Union address tonight as he’s expected to highlight rejecting political violence with her presence symbolizing the fight against it and his legacy.
