Articles of impeachment have been filed against Judge James Boasberg for his role in the Arctic Frost investigation scandal where he helped the Biden DOJ spy in Republican senators – telling Verizon and AT&T not to reveal what was happening.
Boasberg, who has repeatedly ruled against President Trump, ordered telecom giants Verizon and AT&T not to inform Republican senators about the spying because it could threaten national security.
Former Special counsel Jack Smith’s office secretly obtained communications data from at least 10 GOP senators and one House member as part of the 2023 Arctic Frost investigation
The investigation, which was supposed to be focused on efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, has been blasted by conservatives as worse than Watergate-era abuses.***
Subpoenas issued in May 2023 by Jack Smith to Verizon (covering 12 phone numbers linked to 10 senators and one House member) and AT&T (targeting two lawmakers).
Verizon targets included
Sens. Blackburn,
Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.),
Josh Hawley (R-Mo.),
Ted Cruz (R-Texas),
Rick Scott (R-Fla.),
Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.),
Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska),
Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.),
Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), and
Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.).
AT&T subpoenas hit Ted Cruz and an unnamed second senator.
Signed by Boasberg, the orders banned carriers from telling Senators that they were being spied on to “preserve the integrity of the investigation.”
The gag orders lifted in 2024, but carriers didn’t tell the Senators until late October of this year after Senate Republicans, led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), pressed for transparency.
Grassley released FBI memos on October 22 confirming that Smith’s investigation was more of a Biden weaponization against MAGA supporters
