The DOJ announced it arrested a US Special Forces soldier who took part in the raid that captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro after the soldier allegedly pocketed $400,000 by betting more than $30,000 on Maduro’s removal on Polymarket. However, calls are now coming in to arrest members of congress who have been taking part in insider trading for years, like Nancy Pelosi, saying you can’t prosecute the soldier without holding those in congress accountable too.
The soldier, identified as Gannon Ken Van Dyke, bet on the Maduro raid on January 2, knowing the raid would happen on January 3. Which it did.
He now faces up to 60 YEARS in federal prison for:
– 3 counts of violating the Commodity Exchange Act
– 1 count of wire fraud
– 1 count of unlawful monetary transaction
Meanwhile, some names in congress that are popping up for referral for investigation are Nancy Pelosi – When she entered the House in 1987, she listed stock holdings between $610,000 and $785,000. The couple’s net worth is now between $277 to $281 million, with at least $130 million in stock profits. Meaning she has a cumulative return of about 17,000% while the Dow Jones grew 2,300 percent over the same time period.
- Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ, northern New Jersey district): He entered Congress in 2017 with a net worth of about $5.6 million he’s now worth about $40 million i
- Judy Chu (D-CA, Los Angeles-area district): She entered the House with a net worth of about $1 million in 2009 she’s now worth about $14.32 million
