#new James Talarico said that if you want school choice – which is the option to send your kid to a better school – you’re a “Christian Nationalist.”
The Democrat running for Senate against Attorney General Ken Paxton has explicitly tied support for private school vouchers, AKA school choice, to “Christian Nationalism” while pushing hard to keep kids in government-run public schools.
“Part of this Christian nationalist movement is trying to pass these things called private school vouchers”
“It’s an effort to take tax dollars out of our public schools, and give it to unaccountable private schools, usually Christian private schools.”
“Part of this effort to blur the lines between church and state.”
The Democrat says the push to give parents the right to send their kids to a school of their choice, is a billionaire-driven scam to defund public schools and impose religious control.
He says that people who don’t share his views on education, gender, and abortion are extremists.
Talarico believes:
Biological males should be in girls sports saying, “God is non-binary.”
“Tr*ns children are God’s children, made in God’s own image. There’s nothing wrong with them, nothing at all.”
He has repeatedly defended “tr*ns kids” and opposed restrictions on their participation in sports, bathrooms, and school policies.
Talarico said that “S*x is a spectrum, and oftentimes can be very ambiguous.”
He says there are “six genders”
He feels tr*ns need abortion care
“Before we go further, I want to acknowledge that our tr*ns community needs abortion care too.”
He says the bible agrees with abortion and says any limits on abortion are un-Christian
He treats women as “neighbors with a uterus”
