#new ICE detained 22 out of 30 illegal migrants from Rhino Roofing and Siding – warning the owner of the business they were coming back for him

The company, owned by Ryan Lamusga and based in Nisswa, Minnesota, was working on some post-storm work.
Some of the illegal migrants jumped from roofs and ran into nearby woods when agents arrived around 1 p.m.

Agents detained the men, later holding 11 in Crow Wing County jail and 11 in Kandiyohi County jail according to Lamusga who said legal workers were released after verification.
Lamusga, the media and some nearby liberals who didn’t witness the operation criticized ICE.
Lamusga saying
“It was just chaotic. They were driving on the grass and everything in between the houses and everything.”
“They didn’t care to speak to me. They said they were going to come track me down after and what not but that wasn’t the case. “
“They were arresting everybody. I mean I had probably thirty here at one point and I think we were left with seven. Some of them were dropped off down the road and whatnot so they weren’t checking all documentation here.”
It is a federal crime to knowingly hire illegal migrants – and can carry a prison sentence if convicted.
Employers must verify work authorization through I-9 forms.
Lamusga publicly admitted that “a good portion of our whole industry is done by illegal migrants.”
This means at least 22 jobs have immediately opened up for American citizens.
ICE said the operation was “a precise, intelligence-driven effort rather than a broad sweep” focused on specific illegal migrants with prior removal orders or other immigration violations.

Agents completed the operation and left the area.
Lamusga’s claim that agents were broadly arresting then releasing people doesn’t appear to be true.
The Minnesota Star Tribune headline read “Roofers jump from homes in Bemidji to escape ICE agents,” focusing on illegals scrambling into woods, the crew shrinking to seven men, and Lamusga making frantic calls for replacements.
They promoted GoFundMe pages for men like Mario Perez and described the scene with words like “abductions”
The emphasis stayed on short-staffing for the contractor, fear among families, and agents driving across grass instead of the federal violation of employing migrants who are in the country illegally, and were already served their final order of removal.
