According to a report, President Donald Trump is getting ready to jump back on Twitter and Facebook
This after Trump’s campaign apparently wrote a letter to Meta – which is Facebook’s parent company – asking them to unblock his account. The campaign wrote that they believe “The ban on President Trump’s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse,
The report claims that Trump’s campaign didn’t threaten to sue if his account wasn’t given back to him, but instead talked about the importance of free speech, asking for a “meeting to discuss President Trump’s prompt reinstatement to the platform.”
A Meta spokesperson said it “will announce a decision in the coming weeks” on whether or not Trump will be reinstated.
Facebook and Twitter banned Trump after the January 6 protest at the capitol. Twitter banned the sitting President permanently, but Elon Musk reinstated his account criticizing Twitter’s leadership for the ban.
Facebook on the other hand banned trump for two years saying they would review his account on January 7th of this year.
