Superior Court Judge Kendra Briggs, who was nominated by Joe Biden in 2021, has ordered the release of two suspects charged with the violent assault and attempted carjacking of Edward Coristine, AKA Big Balls, a 19-year-old former staffer at DOGE.
The attack happened earlier this month when gang of about 8 to 12 teenagers attacked Coristine and his girlfriend while they were standing next to their vehicle.
Corstine, tried save his girlfriend, by pushing her inside the car, and locking it just before the mob of teens attacked him, giving him a concussion, broken nose, black eye, and bruises.
Patrolling officers arrived half-way through the assault and were able to catch two 15-year-old suspects from Maryland while the rest escaped.
Judge Briggs, is known for her soft on crime approach that critics say favors releases and reduced detentions for juveniles, even in violent cases.

In 2024 she sentenced a teenager to three years for helping to beat 64-year-old Reggie Brown to death – by stomping on him while he lay on the ground.
She allowed another teenage girl to plead guilty to simple assault in the same fatal beating – resulting in a four year sentence.
In addition Briggs convicted a teen on a gun possession charge, instead of murder, in 2023 after the sh**ting that killed an innocent bystander Dale Henson
