The second suspect in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Mass Shooting that happened earlier this month and resulted in two people being killed and 10 more injured has been arrested by U.S. Marshals.
According to authorities Dimione Jamal Walker, 29, was arrested in Chicago for the April 10th mass shooting at the Taboo Night Club. Walker is wanted on several charges in Iowa and Illinois.

In Linn County, Iowa, Walker is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, and felon in possession of a firearm.
“It’s extremely frustrating as a prosecutor to have people more afraid of a perpetrator than being willing to come forward and put them behind bars when they are extremely dangerous.”
Walker plead guilty to trafficking stolen weapons in 2018. He was sentenced to up to five years in prison but served about two years. Five months after his release he was arrested in Chicago.
The suspect, in the Cedar Rapids mass shooting that took place at Taboo Night Club early Sunday morning killing two people and injuring 10 others, has personal ties to the woman that was killed; 35-year-old Nicole Owens according to social media posts.
32-year-old Timothy Ladell Rush was arrested Monday on charges that include:
- Murder – 2nd Degree
- Willful Injury – Causing Serious Injury
- Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon
- Reckless Use of a Firearm – Causing Serious Injury
- Possession of a Firearm as a Felon.

In his initial appearance in court, Linn County prosecutor Shayl Wilson detailed the charges against Rush who appeared Tuesday morning by video feed from the jail.
According to a criminal complaint, the shooting was caught on video surveillance. The video showed Rush allegedly firing a 9 mm handgun “intentionally and indiscriminately” into the crowd before running away.
Investigators collected 9 mm shell casings from the scene that match the 9 mm firearm found at Rush’s home.
In addition, Police say Rush identified himself on video before and after the shooting.
Rush is being charged with killing 35-year-old Nicole Owens and shooting Marvin Cox in the head.
The prosecutor says more charges will be filed against Rush.
“With regards to the murder in the second degree, the investigation is still continuing. Mr. Cox is still in the hospital with his condition unknown at the time and there could be additional counts added based on injuries of other persons at the establishment,” Wilson says.
The criminal complaint does not mention Michael Valentine, the second person Cedar Rapids Police say was killed Sunday.
Chief Wayne Jerman has said they believe two male suspects targeted one person at the nightclub – and that 12-24 rounds were fired.
Rush’s bond is set at $1.5 million.
The Aguayo News Investigative Team found that Rush had a child with Owens and appeared to be her long term boyfriend.
Both Owens and Rush posted numerous pictures to their social media accounts of the two of them together enjoying car rides, laughing and showing affection towards one another.

Other posts show both Rush and Owens acknowledging their long term relationship that has endured it’s ups and downs, while professing heartfelt feelings for one another.

Rush changed his profile picture on his social media at 9:53 a.m. Monday morning to one which showed Owens presumably sitting in the passenger seat of his vehicle. Rush also calls himself a ‘Sr.’ and shows the picture of a small child as well. The name of the child is noted in the picture.

Nicole also posted pictures of Rush along with the child that was seen on his profile picture, captioning the the photo “I make some beautiful girls.”

In one of the pictures you can see Owens, Rush and the small child. Owens is smiling while Rush is holding the baby and kissing Owens on the cheek.

In video shot moments after the shooting happened a person who appears to be Rush can be heard crying inconsolably while hugging someone directly outside of the club doors.
That same person can then be heard wailing as he walks around and saying, “My BI*$% is inside, she’s laying on the floor.”
At one point in the video it appears as though he is attempting to get back inside the night club, presumably to check on Owens.
