The new CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk reinstated President Trump’s Twitter account Saturday night. The move comes just three weeks after Musk purchased the platform for $44 billion and just after a poll on whether or not to allow Trump back on Twitter was posted and received more than 15 million votes.
52% of people polled said Trump should be allowed back on the platform. Musk made the announcement in a Tweet simply saying, The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.

This could prove to be very impactful as Trump used Twitter to communicate with the American people when running for President in 2016, and throughout his presidency.
Musk has said that Twitter should be a platform for free speech and that permanent bans should be rare. He also said that Trump’s suspension was “a mistake” and “foolish.
On Friday Kathy Griffin, Jordan Peterson and Babylon Bee were reinstated. Griffin once tweeted a picture that appeared to be the severed, bloody head of Donald Trump.
Trump launched Truth Social earlier this year so it is unclear whether or not he will utilize Twitter or stick to Truth social.
