The CEO’s of 10 major airlines are asking Joe Biden to drop the mask mandates and the pre-boarding COVID tests, immediately.
The airlines include Southwest, Alaska, Delta, Jet Blue and American. In the Letter the CEO’s called on Biden to ease up on the restrictions saying that they no longer make any sense. The CEO’s pointed to Biden’s own statement when he said that covid no longer “controls our lives,” and the CDC’s decision to ease mask mandates last month.

Biden recently extended the mask mandate an additional month, but did not give any reasoning for doing so, nor did he back up the decision with any data that would support his decision.
The airlines also talked about the widespread natural immunity saying, “[N]ow is the time for the Administration to sunset federal transportation travel restrictions — including the international pre-departure testing requirement and the federal mask mandate,” the letter declared, “that are no longer aligned with the realities of the current environment.”
Certain airlines also rescinded their vaccine mandates for employees, after it led to widespread shortages and disrupted thousands of flights months ago.
