The pressures that face border patrol agents in the field are at an all time high, and the morale of the men and women who risk their lives to secure the border are
at an all time low.
Gilbert Maza, a recently retired 24 year veteran of the Border Patrol force told Aguayo News that the open border policies of the Biden Administration are leading to record setting numbers of illegal migrants pouring across the southern border.
In Fact, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) about 1 million illegal migrants have crossed the border in the last five months alone, with nearly half of those being released into the country.
Maza said that the combination of record setting numbers and the lack of support from the Biden administration
is leading to high pressure and low morale for the men and women of Border Patrol.
“The are literally letting go of a couple of thousand people in two days 600 in one day 700 in another day. They’re releasing them into the communities Christina because we don’t have the room.”
Maza said that the Border Patrol was never meant to be a detentions or a holding facility for people for any period of time,
“We’re supposed to hold them long enough. to process or deport them if they could not prove they had the documentation to stay or remain in the United States legally. That’s been our job for 97 years. The enforcement.”
But because of the unprecedented number of illegal migrants pouring across the border, Agents are being pulled away from their duty to protect and secure the southern border, to serve as processing agents, funneling the illegal migrants into the country,
“Now they’re being forced to become caretakers baby sitters, nurse maids, feeding, clothing Hospital transport. Now keep in mind keep that almost 90% or more of the people that are coming in right now do not have – by law – a legitimate Asylum claim. But they’re all, regardless of that, they are all being released into the country. Willy-nilly hope they come back no real way to track them or go after him later on. In essence, the Biden Administration has turned 2,000 miles of Southern border into a Port of Entry. Now you can walk along any hole along the southern border and we have no choice but to accept you.. Especially when coming from Secretary [of Homeland Security Alejandro] Mayorkas who has said that being here in the country illegally is no longer a deportable offense. So take away Title 42, you have now, what to stand on to keep them here.”
Maza also asserted that because of the sheer numbers, the claim from the Biden Administration that every Illegal Migrant is being vetted before they enter the country, is false,
“They say if they have a criminal record, we’re not going to release them. Well guess what, they’re releasing tons of those as well. Why because we just do not have the facilities to hold them any longer. Our outdoors facilities are overrun the temporary facilities are overrun our stations are overrun. There’s going to come a time and you can see I’m exaggerating, that the agent just watched the people cross the border and walk past the station and they can’t do darn thing about it.”
