New reports show that local news rooms across the country are collapsing due to false, out of touch reporting by so-called journalists.
This is causing Local news to experience a major financial crisis, forcing them to layoff employees, and in some cases go completely out of business.
According to recently released data that was collected from 2004 to 2020, The number of newspaper employees drooped 57%, Reporters per 100,000 people dropped by 62% and reporters per $100 million in state and local government spending dropped by 67%.
According to a 2020 report more than 25% of newspapers shut down in the last 15 years including many local news outlets. And In that same time period, more than half of all local journalists were let go.
In addition, the ratings for local news stations have dropped to near non-existent levels forcing major television companies to consider moving to all digital platforms.
However, those same local news stations whose ratings have tanked also showcase near non-existent views and interactions on their social media pages and their websites with some local news stations receiving single digit viewer impressions on most of their social media posts, and website stories.
Many former viewers point to generic un-original news reporting from so called journalists who refuse to report real stories. Such as a recent infatuation with a four year old Goat Yoga story that is being pushed out in local news rooms across the country.
Or they point to an overdose of one sided stories running 25 stories on the same subject in one day
Others point to the agenda driven news delivered like the local media’s coverage of the recent gang related shooting in Sacramento where local news reporters conveniently forgot to mention that it was gang members who engaged in a shootout outside of a busy downtown club. Instead they focused on gun control measures for the ‘random shooting’ and portrayed the gang members as law abiding citizens with bright futures.
Also, nearly all former viewers saying they are frustrated with the censorship of news outlets pointing to the medias portrayal the Hunter Biden Laptop Story as Russian disinformation, the relentless defense of Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, the slanted news angle that fits their liberal agenda, or the painting of certain politicians as saints while demonizing any political event that does not align with their collective mind-think.
Nearly 80% of people polled said that the lack of journalism and the lack of quality reporters impacted their decision to stop watching local news.
Even so, local newsrooms continue to deny the issues that viewers express about their Fake, over sensationalized, one sided reporting and poorly qualified reporters, instead insisting that it is the inability of their newsroom reporters to combat what they call disinformation.
