More Than 100 Law Enforcement Officers Shot In The Line Of Duty In 2022

In just the first three months of 2022- more than 100 law enforcement officers have been shot in the line of Duty

Of the 101 officers shot, 17 of them were killed – this according to The National Fraternal Order Of Police.  Of those 32 officers were shot in 19 separate Ambush Style Attacks.

This is a jump of 43% over the same time period last year and a whopping 63% more than the same time period two years back.

Patrick Yates, the National FOP President said,

“We are in the midst of a real crisis. The violence directed at law enforcement officers is unlike anything I’ve seen in my 36 years of law enforcement,” adding that

“Last year was one of the most dangerous years for law enforcement, with more officers shot in the line of duty since the National Fraternal Order of Police began recording this data,”

2021 was the deadliest year for law enforcement in history. A record high of 314 officers were shot in the line of duty through the first 11 months of 2021 with more than 58 officers murdered.
The number of ambush style attacks on officers last year spiked by 128%. We are on track this year to break both of those records.

In a post made to social media, the FOP said the historic numbers are horrific and are an absolute stain on our society, adding that ‘when the vast majority of media elites decide that this issue isn’t worth covering, it speaks volumes as to where our society is heading.’

They finished the post with ‘enough is enough’
