The El Paso Sector Border Patrol busted numerous dangerous human smuggling schemes and found 93 illegal migrants in multiple human stash houses over the last several days.
According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) 13 illegal migrants from Guatemala, El Salvador and Ecuador were found hidden inside a small property in the Segundo Barrio area on July 5th.
Later the same day 10 illegal migrants were found crammed into a small GMC sports utility
vehicle by El Paso Sector Intelligence Unit agents and another 15 illegal migrants hidden in a small room of an apartment complex near Chamizal Park.

The smuggled migrants were from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.
The next day, 25 illegal migrants were found inside a house near Ascarate Park while 16 illegal migrants were nabbed hiding inside two sedans.
It is not clear how many of the illegal migrants were allowed entry into the United States.
El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez released a statement saying,
“U.S. Border Patrol in the El Paso Sector continues to bust dangerous human smuggling
organizations located in residential communities throughout El Paso, Texas. Sheltering migrants
in unsanitary and unsafe conditions is a common practice by Transnational Criminal
Organizations that disregard the safety of the migrants they exploit.”

During Fiscal Year 2022, Border Patrol Agents in El Paso Sector have located more than 156
stash houses, leading to the apprehension of 1,684 migrants.
Record high numbers of illegal migrants continue to cross the Southern Border. According to CBP, a record high 239,416 illegal migrants were apprehended in the month of June alone – and 1,536,899 illegal migrants crossed the southern border so far in FY 2022. Nearly half of those migrants allowed entry into the United States.
