Subpoena For Ilhan Omar’s Immigration Records Has Been Shut-Down By ‘Leadership’

#new Fact Fact: Nancy Mace’s attempt to Subpoena Ilhan Omar’s immigration records was immediately shutdown by ‘leadership’

Rep. Mace (R-S.C.) recently tried to hold Rep. Omar accountable for immigration fraud  but fell flat because she said that both Democrats and Republicans continue to protect Omar.

It happened in a January House Oversight Committee hearing focused on massive fraud schemes in Minnesota, where more than $9 billion taxpayer dollars were stolen by Somali migrants under former Gov. Tim Walz’s watch.

Mace introduced a motion to subpoena records from DHS and ICE related to Omar, her ex-husband – who is also her alleged brother Ahmed Elmi  – and other family members, to investigate violations of federal immigration laws that could jeopardize Omar’s naturalization and eligibility for Congress.

This move was directly tied to accusations that Omar married her brother to secure his U.S. residency—a charge Omar has repeatedly denied saying the accusations are nothing more than Islamophobia.

After a heated debate, including a retaliatory amendment from Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) to investigate Rep. Cory Mills’ (R-Fla.) military and business records—the committee opted to table Mace’s motion, effectively killing it.

Mace said this dodge allowed Republicans to avoid accountability while siding with Democrats to bury the investigation.

“It was Republicans that killed my motion”

Republicans who voiced opposition during the hearing included:

Rep. Scott Perry (Pa.), who warned of setting a “dangerous precedent”

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) who called the motion “out of order,”
