A man from San Antonio who was caught on camera viscously beating his dog was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

56-year-old Frank Javier Fonseca -who was filmed punching and kicking his young Rottweiler on the front porch of his home – was served one of the longest sentences ever given in Texas for animal cruelty. Fonseca’s criminal history, which includes felony convictions for drugs and crimes of retaliation, allowed for a longer sentence.
According to officials, Fonseca told investigators that he was punishing his dog for getting out of the yard. The beating was captured on video in February of 2019. It showed Fonseca repeatedly hitting the puppy with his fists and a piece of wood, then choking and kicking the dog.
