The first bus filled with Illegal migrants arrived in Washington D.C. today dropping off illegal migrants blocks from the US Capitol.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott vowed to start sending illegal migrants to the steps of the Capitol as the southern border continues experience an unprecedented crisis as hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants are crossing the US-Mexico border each month.
According to Customs and Border Protection nearly 1 million illegal migrants have been apprehended at the southern border in the last five months alone, most of which are released into the country, many directly into the small border cities in which they arrive.
The crisis prompted Abbott to announce last week that he was directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal custody in Texas to the nation’s capital.
According to reports the first bus arrived from the Del Rio sector in Texas. Those illegal migrants coming from Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Columbia.
The illegal migrants walked off the bus and were free to go into the city.
TDEM said it sent buses to border communities over the weekend to pick up the illegal migrants that had been released by the Biden Administration. Each bus can carry 40 illegal migrants.
Governor Abbott has been an outspoken critic of the Biden Administration and what he calls Biden’s ‘open border’ policies. Biden reversed Trump era immigration policies that were widely praised for curbing the flow of illegal migration into the united states.
Immediately after taking office Biden enacted a 100 day moratorium on deportations, stopped construction of the southern border all, reversed the Remain in Mexico Policy, and expanded asylum claim requirements. More recently, through Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, declared that a person cannot be deported simply for being in the country illegally and has announced the termination of Title 42 -which was used to expel migrants swiftly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many elected officials, politicians and those in CBP fear a massive influx of illegal migrants when Title 42 is rescinded at the end of May, with some saying a group of 173,000 illegal migrants are waiting on the other side of the border to cross into the country.
Biden quietly enacted Federal Emergency Management Agency for the crisis at the southern border but will not acknowledge there is a crisis.
At a recent event in El Paso Texas, Abbott said that Biden is directly to blame for the crisis at the border, which is why Texas has had to take matters into it’s own hands.
“Texans demand and deserve an aggressive, comprehensive strategy to secure our border—not President Biden’s lackluster leadership. As the federal government continues to roll back commonsense policies that once kept our communities safe, our local law enforcement has stepped up to protect Texans from dangerous criminals, deadly drugs, and illegal contraband flooding into the Lone Star State.”

Governor Greg Abbott today discussed the state’s ongoing border security efforts and how Texas is working with local law enforcement to mitigate the Biden administration’s ongoing border crisis at the Texas Border Sheriffs Coalition Spring Meeting in El Paso. During remarks, the Governor thanked law enforcement for their steadfast partnership in mitigating the influx of dangerous criminals, lethal drugs, and illegal contraband into communities across Texas as a result of the federal government’s refusal to secure the border. Texas will always be a law-and-order state, and I thank our law enforcement officers who have answered the call to protect and serve their fellow Texans in the federal government’s absence in securing our border.”
