The resettlement of Somali families was allegedly a calculated scheme for cheap labor and electoral gain, and trace back to the early 1990s.

The operation, tied to taxpayer-funded “outreach” efforts, proves conservative concerns over illegal voting in migrant-heavy communities.

These communities engaged in rapid naturalization and welfare access leading to massive billion dollar fraud in Medicaid, welfare systems and now voting registrations.

The scheme exploited Minnesota’s same-day registration and absentee systems.

Abdullahi Ahmed and Mohamed Ahmed allegedly fabricated names, addresses, and details to submit forms, with the goal of getting democrat votes.

The plot highlights how federal resettlement policies since the 1990s clustered ~80,000 Somalis in Minnesota, creating a demographic primed for fraud through quick work permits, SSNs, and citizenship paths.

As the Minnesota Attorney General’s office reviews evidence of fabricated voter registrations tied to Somali networks, lawmakers on both sides urge reforms: enhanced ID requirements, audits of mail-in ballots, and caps on resettlement per capita.

Since Tim Walz took office in 2019 – there has been $6.5 billion in fraud carried out by the Somali community – with Walz’s own DHS accusing the governor of covering up the fraud and retaliating against people who reported it.
