The Trucker’s Convoy “We Are Scared Of Getting Set Up In D.C.”

The People’s Convoy has made their way to Maryland and are camping out at the Hagerstown Speedway – a stock racecar track 80 miles northwest of the city The group, who was heading to Washington D.C. has decided to refrain from going into the city, and will now take laps around the D.C. beltway instead. The reason for the decision is that many in the convoy are worried that the government will ‘set them up’ the same way they ‘set up’ the protesters of January 6th. The organizer’s of the convoy say that they have children in the convoy and they have to consider the safety of everyone involved.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered law enforcement to be on high alert, members of the National Guard were deployed and The Department of Homeland Security issued a warning ahead of the Convoy’s arrival. Members of the convy say the moves are indicative of a set up, and the People’s convoy, which has been joined by the Northeast Convoy, are a group of peaceful protesters that will not tolerate violence. Organizers of the convoy say that their plan is strategic and that the protesters, that are making huge sacrifices, are in it for the long haul.

Brian Brase, a trucker from northwestern Ohio and one of the convoy’s organizers said,

“We’re going to continue to increase that pressure, they understand that we’re in their backyard.”

Thousands of supporter have been cheering the convoy on from roadsides and overpasses along the way, others have been donating money and supplies.

The People’s Convoy took off from California en route to Washington D.C. to protest mandates and fight for freedom. The group, which has grown to at least 10,000 people including truckers and civilians, was sparked by the Freedom Convoy in Canada – that was protesting the vaccine Mandate on essential workers who needed to cross the U.S. border for work.

That convoy peacefully protested in downtown Ottawa in January and faced harsh reaction from Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Many of the protesters were ripped out of their trucks and arrested.

The People’s Convoy sings ‘Amazing Grace’ at many of their stops and say they will continue their protest until vaccine mandates are listed.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to restore our once perfect Union, re-establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense of all, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty, do ordain and establish the restoration movement of The People’s Convoy for the United States of America.”

WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND WE STAND TOGETHER UNDER THE BANNER OF FREEDOM – FREEDOM IS THE ONE THING THAT UNITES US ALL. LIBERTY FLOWS THROUGH ALL OF OUR VEINS.

WHO WE ARE: We are truckers, moms, students, nurses, doctors, investors, county workers, teachers, cowboys, loggers, engineers, sanitation workers, professors, cashiers, flight attendants, pilots, sales reps, physical therapists. WE ARE immigrants, natives: WE ARE citizens of the free world.

To our elected officials that believe they rule us: YOU work for US. Our constitution was written to provide enough power to act on a national level, but not enough to deprive the people of fundamental rights. The people are prepared to see this challenge through — as we have seen through all challenges to our Freedom in the past. And we will prevail and prosper.
