A pair of brothers from Arkansas are being called heroes after they rescued their 3-year-old sister from a dog attack. According to local media, the children were visiting their grandmother when two, unleashed pit bulls attacked.
Brenda Hrubes, the grandmother said,
“It was the worst day of my entire life ever,”
The oldest brother, 10-year-old Aiden Guzman, heard the dogs barking and told his siblings to run, according to their mother, Caitlin Mayo,
“Declan [Aiden’s 6-year-old brother] fell behind. The dogs got Declan. Aiden heard the dogs getting Declan and heard Declan screaming so he ran back, pushed the dogs off of Declan, and told Declan to run.”
“It felt like a million needles were poking me,” Declan Moore said, “Aiden got [the dogs] off of [Declan], but then they attacked Aiden,”
“I thought we were going to lose him,” Declan said.
Declan picked up their sister, Annsley, and ran home, leaving Aiden behind.
“He was laying in the street and the owner was already dragging one of the dogs away, but the other was just chewing him up,” Hrubes {the grandmother told the television station,
“My 10-year-old grandson was laying there saying I’m dying, ‘Bren bren I’m dying, tell everyone I love them’”
Aiden Guzman had 41 wounds, was taken to a local hospital and treated. Moore needed 11 stitches and was released the day of the attack.
Moore said his older brother was a hero for saving him and his sister.
“That was really nice. I wish I could have took all the bites.”
