The father of 26-year-old Caitlyn Kaufman, a Tennessee nurse, lunged at the two men accused of her murder during a hearing inside a Davidson County courtroom this week.
Rick Kaufman was held back and then escorted out of the courtroom after he charged through a partition toward Devaunte Lewis Hill and James Edward Cowan – the two men charged with shooting and killing Kaufman on Interstate 440 while she was on her way to work two years ago.
Police said Kaufman was shot at least six times, with the medical examiner saying the nurse was killed within 15 seconds.
Hill and Cowan were charged with criminal homicide, and Hill was charged with assault with bodily injury.
