#BreakingNews The Senate is advancing legislation that would criminalize sanctuary city mayors and governors, meaning they can be arrested if they defy immigration law
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) introduced the measure saying Republicans reached an agreement with the White House to push the bill forward.
The legislation will end sanctuary policies “forever” by criminally charging state and local officials who “willfully obstruct federal immigration “enforcement.
Graham saying that officials who protect illegal migrants or refuse to cooperate can and will face jail time.

Prohibits officials from safe harboring, protecting illegal migrants from arrest, or withholding immigration records.
Bans policies that prevent cooperation between local agencies and federal authorities.
