President Donald Trump Pardoned Five Former NFL Players


President Donald Trump pardoned five former NFL players.  

 

The pardons were announced by Alice Marie Johnson, who said 

“As football reminds us, excellence is built on grit, grace, and the courage to rise again. So is our nation”  

Johnson thanked Trump for his “continued commitment to second chances.” 

 

They are:  

 

Jamal Lewis – drafted out of Tennessee, he was a standout running back for the Baltimore Ravens, his accolades include;  

Super Bowl champion (XXXV) 

PFWA NFL Most Valuable Player (2003) 

NFL Offensive Player of the Year (2003) 

First-team All-Pro (2003) 

Pro Bowl (2003) 

NFL rushing yards leader (2003) 

NFL 2000s All-Decade Team 

PFWA All-Rookie Team (2000) 

Baltimore Ravens Ring of Honor 

BCS national champion (1998) 

2× Second-team All-SEC (1997, 1999) 

SEC Freshman of the Year (1997) 

 

Travis Henry  –  His accolades include:  

Pro Bowl (2002) 

BCS national champion (1998) 

First-team All-SEC (2000) 

He was a running back for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft, and also played for the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2002.

Nate Newton  – Johnson said Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones “personally” shared the news with Newton. He  won three Super Bowls with the team.
