Jesse Jackson Jr. Criticizes Obama, Clinton & Biden For Politicizing His Father’s Memorial Service

Jesse Jackson Jr. expressed his frustration with former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton the day after the former Presidents used Jackson Sr.’s memorial service to ‘push their political agendas’ even though Jackson Jr. had explicitly told them not to bring politics into the service.

“I listened for several hours of three United States Presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson.”

“He maintained a tense relationship with the political order, not because the presidents were white or black, because the demands of our message … demanded not a democrat or republican but a consistent prophetic voice that at no point in time sold us out as a people.”

The Trio delivered speeches laced with political jabs, and far left narratives, like Obama’s speech that focused on politics and not Jackson Sr.,

“In a time when it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions, another set back to the idea of the rule of law.”

“An offense to common decency every day you wake up to things you just didn’t think were possible.”

“Each day we are told by those in high office to fear each other and to turn on each other and some Americans matter more than others, and some don’t even matter at all”

Jackson Jr. saying the presidents didn’t know his father at all, adding that Jackson Sr. Waitd for a phone call but never received one from the politicians that used the service for their own political agendas.

Jackson Jr. suggested they were disconnected from his father’s true legacy of unyielding advocacy for the marginalized – regardless of political affiliation or color.

Obama also faced backlash for his veiled attacks on President Donald Trump.

Conservatives point to this as yet another example of Democrats’ inability to set aside politics, even at a funeral for a man who bridged divides throughout his career.

As for President Trump, Jackson Sr. frequently praised him and received financial support from Trump for his Rainbow PUSH Coalition in the 1980s and 1990s.

Trump also had endorsed Jackson’s efforts to promote minority business opportunities.

President Trump, who did not attend the funeral, issued a glowing tribute praising Jackson as a “great American” and “friend,” and highlighted their shared history in a statement after Jackson’s death.
