Joe Kent, the democrat turned republican, who just resigned from the administration over the conflict in Iran, is being called a hypocrite for previously supporting a war against ISIS when it was his wife that was k*lled, but now that its other loved ones that are k*lled – he’s calling it ‘Israel’s war’
Kent, the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center, turned in his resignation letter earlier Tuesday. In it he said he could “not in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” insisting the Islamic Republic posed “no imminent threat” and that the conflict is all about Israel and not national security.
However, Gold Star wives are taking aim at Kent, like Sherrel Anne, who said “You don’t get to redefine this war just because it’s not your grief anymore.”
Kent, a former military man, whose wife Shannon was killed by an ISIS suicide bomber back in 2019 – referenced his wife in the letter – saying she was k*lled in a ‘war manufactured by Israel”
However, this is in complete opposition to Kent’s earlier stance – right after Shannon’s death – when President Trump launched targeted strikes in 2020 – killing Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.
Kent publicly and repeatedly praised President Trump’s decisive leadership and supported Trump putting continued pressure on t*rrorist networks.
He never once framed that mission as Israel’s war.

“My husband didn’t die for Israel. He died because this war has been targeting Americans for decades,”
“We didn’t suddenly stumble into this because of Israel. Our service members have been in the crosshairs of Iranian-backed t*rror networks for years. That’s the reality families like mine have lived with. So spare me the talking point that this is ‘Israel’s war.’ Some of us have already paid for it in American blood.”
She goes on to say,
“Iran has drenched American blood for decades…When they shriek “Israel First” or “escalation,” they mock every widow’s shattered heart and every fatherless child’s empty chair.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson also took issue with some of Kent’s claims saying – that the former democrat has no idea what he’s talking about, watch.
