#new The parents of Karmelo Anthony – who was sentenced to 35-years in prison after being convicted of First Degree mrder for k*lling Austin Metcalf – are saying the trial was a ‘set-up’ and essentially blamed their White attorneys for not objecting enough,a nd said the teenage eyewitnesses all lied on the stand.
#Texas Anthony’s mother and father are painting themselves, and their son out to be the victim – even though it was 17-year-old Metcalf who was m*rdered.
The parents did not mention Austin Metcalf or his family, show any remorse or have any well wishes for the Metcalf family.
Anthony’s grandma did however, leave the courtroom shouting ‘racist’ and ‘Biased’ as she was driven out of the parking lot.
The Anthony’s framed their son as the wronged party and suggested that White people, including their defense attorney, deliberately sabotaged the case by making “no objections.”
Ms. Anthony saying,
“My son didn’t intend to hurt anyone, he’s not a m*rderer”
“Absolutely not [a fair trial]. Absolutely not, and we’re going to keep fighting. We will not stop fighting for justice for my son.”
They were asked if they would have done anything differently, Mr. Anthony said,
“Just being rebellious. I was told don’t talk to this person. Don’t talk to this person. It’s just a setup now.”
“So they told us to get White attorneys. Every black person I went to. White attorney. They set him up.”
“Hey here you go. No objections.”
“As a father. Me being who I am. I got to make sure she straight. Because if she is not straight. My house ain’t straight.”
“The kids are the kids. Gotta make sure his mental health.”
“I can’t go back and forth with him. His mental handling. To misunderstanding what dad is trying to tell you. This ain’t a daddy moment. This ain’t a daddy moment.”
No court filing, prosecutor statement, or independent evidence has surfaced showing a conspiracy to assign or steer the family toward ineffective White counsel.
The jury convicted Karmelo Anthony of First Degree M*rder after hearing witness testimony – including from friends and teammates of Anthony and multiple black witnesses – about the stabbing.
One witness said
“He had in mind what he was going to do that day”
The parents’ public statements since the guilty verdict are all about alleged unfairness and racism.
There isn’t any remorse or acknowledgment that their son m*rdered Austin Metcalf, or understanding that the Metcalf family will never see their son, and brother again.
Then, the parents that infused Anthony’s mind with ‘victimhood’ and racism against White people – leading to his actions that day – are the same ones that left him alone in the courtroom to face the sentencing phase and the victim impact statements by himself.
The verdict and sentencing appeared to come as a shock to Anthony, assumably because his parent’s ‘black power’, ‘anti-White’ mentality convinced him he was ‘getting off’
Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, said after the sentencing that the case was never about race but about right and wrong.
He told Anthony directly that he had failed his parents, himself, and society. Austin’s mother, Meghan Metcalf, said she received a “lifetime without my son” while Anthony received 35 years, and that conversations with her son now happen only at his grave.
The family described the loss as leaving their home quiet and emphasized that Metcalf was a peacemaker and “morning kid” who brought people together. T
he facts remain:
🔺️Anthony took a knife to a track meet
🔺️Was the only one of his teammates that went to sit under another team’s tent
🔺️Had every opportunity to leave, which is what Austin was telling him to do
🔺️Had multiple adults, coaches and athletic trainers close by to reach out to for help if he was scared
🔺️Refused to leave the tent more than 15 times
🔺️Shouted “You guys are a bunch of pssies” and “You’re a B*tch” while refusing to leave 🔺️Threatened Austin saying “Touch me and see what happens”
🔺️Ran for the exit after the stabbing and not a coach
🔺️Had multiple black student athletes – some of whom were his teammates and friends – testify that Anthony provoked the situation, should have left the tent and considered what he did m*rder.
🔺️And just like the prosecution said, Anthony had a mentality of ‘violence’ that day, which was backed up by witness testimony
🔺️The Anthony’s made more than $600,000 (through a GiveSendGo campaign) on this m*rder – but yet are claiming that they are penniless in their application for a public defender for his appeal.
