However, records show Pramila Jayapal graduated from the elite Jakarta Intercultural School in Indonesia which cost up to $39,000 a year, then went to an elite University where her parents paid her tuition.
Jayapal was born in India, into an upper-class family. When she arrived in the US, she attended Georgetown University
Her family moved to Indonesia in 1969 when her father accepted an overseas job tied to the oil industry. Her mother was a writer.
They lived there for 10 years before moving on to Singapore.
🔺️She attended the Jakarta Intercultural School, a private international institution serving children of expatriates, diplomats, and affluent families, from elementary grades through high school. It costs up to $39,000 per year.
🔺️She graduated from the school in 1982 at age 16.
🔺️Jayapal arrived in the United States in 1982 and attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. – her parents paid her tuition.
🔺️The minimum annual cost when Jayapal was enrolled (1982) was $10,750 per year which equals about $37,300 today when adjusted for inflation.
🔺️She later earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
