The former Massachusetts Democratic activist – Calla Walsh – volunteered on Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign, and Ed Markey’s reelection effort, and worked on Michelle Wu’s Boston mayoral campaign.
She spent America’s 250th birthday in Tehran, for multi-day funeral processions that started July 4. Khamenei, 86, was killed back in February as part of the Iran war. Iranian officials delayed full ceremonies for months before staging large public mourning events at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla mosque.
Walsh, 22, and born in Massachusetts, participated directly. She reported from the mosque and gave interviews to Iran’s Press TV, the regime’s English-language propaganda outlet.
Walsh described the gatherings as “a resounding referendum on the Iranian masses’ loyalty to the Islamic Revolution” and praised Khamenei’s legacy saying he “was a leader to all people of the world who struggle against imperialism, arrogance, against Zionism, against genocide.”
Walsh also called him humble and suggested his teachings and the Islamic Revolution offered lessons especially useful for people in the United States.
She claimed the U.S. had suffered its greatest humiliation in history and that Iranians stood more united behind the regime than ever.
🔷️Walsh operated from Beirut, Lebanon, after leaving the U.S.
🔷️She presents herself as a journalist for outlets like VPol while functioning as an activist aligned with Iran’s “Axis of Resistance.”
🔷️In July 2025 she traveled to Tehran for an Iranian state-organized event, where she declared it “the greatest honor of my life” to be there under U.S. and Israeli “genocidal siege,” chanted “Death to America, Death to Israel,” and praised the Axis of Resistance.
️Months earlier, immediately after Khamenei’s assssination, Walsh posted
“The only real justice for Imam Khamenei and for all the martyrs will be the total and complete dismantling of the US and ‘Israel.’ Anything less is a capitulation.”
Khamenei:
️Funded, trained, and armed the trror group of Hezbollah (Lebanon) with hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
️Hezbollah is responsible for attacks klling hundreds of Americans and Israelis.
