The lead prosector in the Karmelo Anthony m*rder trial revealing that his entire team was getting de*th threats from outside agitators during the trial – some of whom showed up today and were siting in the courtroom.
Bill Wirskye making the statements during the closing arguments of today’s hearing on whether Judge John Roach Jr. should be removed from any future proceedings in the case, like the request for a new trial and anything involved in the appeal process.
One of the reasons Judge Roach gave for having limited access to the trial, is for the protection of the minors involved – so it appears as though that decision was validated – however Wirskye telling visiting Judge Sid Harle that he’s not sure it’s the state’s job to defend the judge or not.
He did add that Judge Roach didn’t do anything wrong, the jury was picked according to the law, they heard the arguments and reached a unanimous verdict.
Wirskye went on to say that he’s defended capital m*rders in front of judge Roach adding that he “will always listen and he will always have an open mind”
He said he thinks it important to know that there was a concerted effort by outside influencers to come in and disrupt this trial, some of them are here today”
Adding that the’ve never seen anything like they saw in this case and
“We were all getting death threat’s”
“Everything was agreed to to protect Mr. Anthony and his attorneys”
