Barack Obama Criticizes Poland, Hungary Because They Refuse To Open Their Borders

#News Barack Obama is now criticizing Hungary and Poland because they refuse to open their borders and allow the mass influx of migrants from M*slim-majority and third-world countries. He’s also been meeting with activists and NGOs who oppose the conservative governments there.

Obama said he’s becoming “increasingly concerned about the rising wave of authoritarianism sweeping the globe.”

He specifically described Hungary and Poland as two of the main places where people are actively fighting back against authoritarian-style governments.

“We’re seeing politicians target civil society, undermine freedom of the press, weaponize the justice system. And no one is being spared.”

“Even countries that thought they were immune from wholesale assaults on democracy now understand we’re all part of this struggle.”

Critics say this is a direct attack on the two countries because they refuse to accept open-border policies pushed by the European Union.

They add that any time an elected official, leader or country does not fall in line with the liberal Democrat agenda, they immediately become authoritarian, fascist, and an enemy of democracy. Others point out that Obama is just accusing conservatives of what Democrats are already doing.

Republicans question how protecting citizens from a mass influx of migrants who will leech off taxpayers, r*pe women, and commit violent crime, can be called authoritarian.

Hungary’s Balázs Orbán, political director to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, responded that the left’s playbook has not changed: it deploys “Soros-funded ‘experts’” to deliver distant lectures and level “vague, evidence-free accusations against a sovereign nation.”

He said that Hungary does not need Obama’s approval or permission, and that “the nation’s future will – and must – be determined solely by the will of the Hungarian people.”

He also exposed past pressure by Obama for Hungary to rewrite parts of its constitution.

Hungary built a border fence in 2015 and has consistently rejected EU migrant redistribution quotas.

Poland under previous conservative governments took the same stance.

Both nations have much fewer migrants than France or Germany and do not see the violence and riots in their countries.

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk say it’s evidence that their stricter policies are correct, with Magyar saying Hungary will not weaken border protection “under any pressure.”

Fast Facts:

🔴Hungary and Poland have faced EU fines and legal pressure for refusing to take in migrants under “redistribution” schemes.

🔴France had 10 million foreign-born migrants in 2025 versus about 1 million in Poland (about half from Ukraine) and under 700,000 in Hungary (mostly from other EU countries).

🔴Obama has a long record of criticizing Orbán and earlier Polish conservative governments over policies while staying silent on authoritarian practices in countries like Iran and China.

Critics are questioning why it’s so important to Obama, that Poland and Hungary have open borders. What do you think?
