Cheating with in the party. Democrats in Brooklyn are accusing the Democrat party of filing forged signatures to knock fellow democrats off the ballot.
According to a complaint filed by grassroots political organization Rep Your Block The Brooklyn Democrat Party filed the paperwork to the city board of elections.
The “filing of these objections with your agency amounts to the criminal act of filing a false instrument,” the complaint to the BOE states. “These objections and any resulting specifications should be dismissed by your agency.”
The complaint includes sworn affidavits from a pair of registered democrats in Brownsville and East New York who say the signatures on ballot challenges to candidates that were filed in their names, were in fact not them.

The complaint also says they have concerns about the validity of at least six other signatures and alleges that the Democrat party is committing criminal acts to block certain members from being a part of the political party pointing to similar handwriting among the signatures, obvious discrepancies between submitted signatures and voter signatures already on file and misspellings of some of the names.
“We just want to be a part of our own political party. It shouldn’t be that hard. And to have to go to a criminal end to block us is just shocking,” said Maggie Moore, campaign director for Rep Your Block. “It’s really, really unfortunate and disappointing.”
