In his continued testimony, Super Star Actor Johnny Depp choked up on the stand Monday while talking about how he’s been treated by the Media and by Disney,
‘I built the character of Captain Jack Sparrow from the ground up, I added so much of myself to it…and Disney declared me guilty until proven innocent.’
He also talked about the unfair treatment he received from the media anytime he tried to tell his side of the story,
“Every time I tried to do an interview to explain my side they turned it into a hit piece against me.”
Depp took the stand last Tuesday in his libel lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, saying her domestic abuse allegations against him were disturbing, heinous and “not based in any species of truth.”
“Nothing of the kind ever happened,” Depp said in court.
He added: “Never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way. Nor have I ever struck any woman in my life.”
Alluding to the fall his career has taken since Heard levied abuse allegations against him, the former “Pirates of the Caribbean” star said, “it’s been six years of trying times. It’s very strange when one day you’re Cinderella, so to speak, and then in 0.6 seconds you’re Quasimodo.”
Depp added that he’s concerned for his children and the people who have believed in him.
“I am obsessed with the truth,” Depp said. “So today is actually my first opportunity that I’ve been able to speak about this case.”
Depp also described a childhood in which physical abuse from his mother was “constant.” The abuse came in the form of ashtrays being flung or a high-heeled shoe or telephone being used to beat him, Depp said.
Depp also testified that he was demeaned and berated by Heard,
“Miss Heard was unable to be wrong. It just didn’t happen. She couldn’t be wrong. So these little digs…and it would commence with sort of demeaning name calling, berated, sort of to be made a fool of, and those would escalate into a full scale argument,” he continued,
“There was no way to fit a word in. It was a sort of a rapid fire, sort of endless parade of insults and, you know, looking at me like I was a fool.”
During the trial, it was revealed that the tip of Depp’s finger was cut off during an argument with Heard. Pictures also surfaced of a burn mark on Depp’s face where Heard allegedly put out a cigarette on his face.
So far, Depp’s friends, family and employees have testified that Heard was the aggressor in the relationship, physically attacking him on multiple occasions. Heard’s former personal assistant testified that Heard spit in her face in a fit of rage.
In addition, their marriage counselor pinned Heard as the instigator, the aggressor and a person who has a ‘jackhammer’ way of speaking, not allowing Depp to speak.
