Derek Zubeldia, a Texas State Senate Candidate for District 29 is calling for the people of Texas to come together in unity after authorities say 18-year old Salvador Ramos walked into an elementary school, opened fire and killed 19 students and two teachers,
My heart and prayers go out to the victim’s families, the students and faculty of Uvalde’s school district and the entire community of Uvalde. I pray God give them strength, comfort and peace in the days, months, and years to come.
Zubeldia also took aim at politicians like Joe Biden, Robert Francis O’Rourke and others who have used this horrific tragedy to push political agendas saying,
This is a time for unity and prayer as we all share in this grief and pain. It is pivotal that we honor the victims and their families by not politicizing this evil massacre. Unfortunately, within hours of this unimaginable act, President Biden and the Democrat’s leadership sought to politicize this horrific act for their political benefit. Democrats immediately used this massacre as an opportunity for divisiveness instead of unity as they spewed decades old DNC talking points.
On Tuesday evening Joe Biden addressed the nation and quickly politicized the horrific nightmare happening in Uvalde, Texas. Speaking from the Roosevelt room Biden pushed the Democrat agenda for restrictions on 2nd Amendment rights,
“As a nation, we have to ask when in God’s name we going to stand up to the gun lobby, when in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done. Dear aren’t running through the forest with Kevlar vests on, for God’s sake. It’s just sick. The gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons, which make them the most and largest profit. For God’s sake, we have to have the courage to stand up to the industry.”
In addition, during a news conference on Wednesday Robert Francis O’Rourke caused a scene in front of members of the Uvalde community and even parents of children killed at Robb Elementary school who were in attendance.
Witnesses say that O’Rourke staged the scene for political gain in his Gubernatorial race against Gov. Abbott.
It happened when Abbott attempted to pass the mic to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, that’s when O’Rourke stood up and yelled “You are doing nothing,” and the shooting was “totally predictable” because of Abbott6s support of the 2nd amendment.
Patrick told O’Rourke to “sit down … you’re out of line in an embarrassing encounter”
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, who was on stage also told O’Rourke to sit down.
And the Mayor of Uvalde lashed out in disbelief,
“I can’t believe you’re a sick son of a b**** to come to a place like this to make a political issue.”
Law enforcement officers then escorted O’Rourke out of the news conference but not before O’Rourke stopped one more time, waited for the cameras to surround him, then began yelling once again.
Many are saying that this was political suicide for O’Rourke who was already a long shot to win in Texas after Governor Abbott racked in record setting primary numbers.
Zubeldia said that instead of focusing on politics the leaders of this country need to come together to protect the children,
It is crucial that we gather all the facts of this investigation to prevent this from happening again. We owe it to our children and teachers to keep them safe. We will continue praying for peace, comfort and strength during this time for the people of Uvalde. We will continue to be Uvalde strong and Texas strong.
