As Joe Biden publicly points the finger at Russia, Oil Companies and now Gas distributors for record-setting prices at the pump, his administration continues to devastate the oil and gas industry by making moves behind the scenes to eliminate oil production here in the United States.
The latest devastating blow coming as Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is getting set to end oil production in the Permian Basin, which is the largest oil field in the United States. In fact, the area produces 95,000,000 gallons of gasoline per day or 40% of the oil produced domestically, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data, meaning that gas will skyrocket so high that Americans will soon wish they were paying $5 and $6 per gallon.
The EPA plans to accomplish this drastic move by putting in place new regulations, then citing the oil field for violating ozone pollution standards. The EPA will give regulators three years to comply with the new regulations. However, Biden’s war on American Energy has already disincentivized new oil drilling which costs tens of millions of dollars with no guarantee that the site will produce oil – so the new move will result in the most productive oil area in the nation seeing fewer permits and drilling sites.
Even some at the EPA are calling out Biden for his extreme ‘go green’ agenda that’s crippling the oil and gas industry and Americans alike. The former EPA Chief of Staff Mandy Gunasekara said,
“Even as Americans are struggling with $5 gas and record-breaking inflation, team Biden continues to double down on their political commitments to ‘end all fossil fuels.’”
In addition, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter to the Biden administration saying the EPA needs to drop the proposed regulations that will only make things worse for the nation.
Abbott also called out Biden for being a Hypocrite saying his public comments to the people do not match up with what he is doing behind closed doors,
“You say that you want ‘to bring refineries back online to get more gas to the pump at lower prices…’ That goal… could be thwarted if the EPA is allowed to move forward with its discretionary regulatory process. If you let the EPA move forward with the untimely and unnecessary measures that accompany redesignation, that action will put 25 percent of American oil supply at risk. That, in turn, could substantially increase the cost of gasoline.”
Biden began his war on American Energy while campaigning for the 2020 Presidential election. He promised to end Fossil Fuels in the United States which he is accomplishing at the expense of the American people. Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, cancelled off shore oil leases, cancelled oil leases on Federal Lands and sent oil pulled from the Strategic oil reserve to Europe. In the meantime Biden continues to beg other countries to produce more oil.
