Police have confirmed that a 15-year-old girl and her fugitive father were killed after the father got into a shoot-out with police on Interstate 15 in Hesperia, California.
Savannah Graziano, who was kidnapped by her father, was running toward San Bernardino County sheriffs as the officers shot at her father, Anthony John Graziano.
Graziano was wanted for the murder of Savannah’s mother. It is unclear whether the shots that killed the teenager were fired by the officers or by her father.
In addition, San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus said Savannah may have fired some shots herself saying the case was ‘highly complex,’
“There may be some indications that the passenger of the vehicle which we believe is Savannah may have been involved in some of the fire exchange. There may be some information that the passenger was involved in firing back at the deputies and we’re still trying to confirm that at this point.”
According to police, Savannah was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her father was killed at the scene.
Police started pursuing the vehicle after someone called 911 upon seeing the vehicle that matched the description of an Amber alert that was issued.
