Mohamed El-Sayed smashed a fifth of vodka on the floor of a Detroit liquor store and told the m*slim owner he had no right to sell it, claiming that people who sell alcohol pull money out of the neighborhood – this according to El-Sayed’s own stories where he likes to brag about himself and act like he’s tough

The Michigan Senate nominee told the story on a podcast in May, and again at an outdoor event.
El-Sayed, who at the time was Detroit’s health director, said he walked into a gas-station liquor store run by an Arab m*slim with a thick beard.
The clerk asked if he was m*slim and told him his beard was too short listen…

El-Sayed said that the man was judging him, walked back to the shelf, grabbed a bottle of vodka, set it on the counter, and when the clerk said
“You can’t buy that”
El Sayed said
“You’re right and you can’t sell it.”
In the podcast version of his story he claimed that he then smashed the Vodka on the floor and walked out.
Islam forbids both drinking and selling alcohol, however many migrant-owned corner stores in Detroit still sell it.
El-Sayed’s own investment portfolio screens out companies that earn more than 5% of revenue from alcohol, and other items that are forbidden in Islam.

A move critics say is indicative of El Sayed’s core islamic beliefs that clash with American law, beliefs they say he will work to implement in the US if elected.
In 2009 he said he felt a religious obligation to live a Sharia-compliant life until the day he dies.
Republicans are warning of the extreme beliefs of El-Sayed, his sister who hates America, his father-in-law who is tied to funding t*rrorism and his ties with capitalist Hasan Piker who said Americans deserved 911 – comments El-Sayed refused to condemn.
