Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton beat out Land Commissioner George P. Bush on Tuesday in the Republican primary runoff, Paxton doubling the number of votes Bush received with just 45% of voting in.

Bush has served as the state’s land commissioner for seven years ,and has been called a RINO by Paxton and many members of the Republican party. He also criticized Paxton for filing a lawsuit over the results of the 2020 presidential election in four battleground states as accusations of widespread voter fraud exploded nationwide.
In the lead up to the run-off Paxton nailed Bush for flip flopping on many issues – one of which were comments Bush made in 2014 where he supported the Texas Dream Act, which allows illegal migrants to receive in state tuition at public universities. Paxton pointing out how Bush now wants to repeal the law.
