#News Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is holding a fundraiser at the Hollywood home of Catharine & Jeffrey Soros. Jeffrey is the nephew of George Soros. They are asking attendees to contribute more than $57,000.

This is an interesting move, especially because El-Sayed has been campaigning on “keeping money out of politics” and saying “Our campaign is 100% funded by people like you – not corporations and would-be oligarchs.”

He repeats campaign slogans like:
“I’m the only candidate in this race who’s never touched a corporate PAC check. Never have, never will. Our values shouldn’t be for sale. So, I can tell you with a straight face that we’ve got to get money out of politics.”
“I’m gonna be the biggest opponent of a system that has sold off working people to the highest bidder.”
“Our campaign is 100% funded by grassroots supporters.”
“Our movement is about the kind of folks who don’t have lobbyists or PACs.”
“Number one, we absolutely have to take money out of politics.”
“It’s the many versus the money.”
But critics point out that he’s now taking rich people’s personal money, in Hollywood, after spending a year telling Michigan the problem is that politics is for sale to people with that kind of money.
They also say that while the PACs connected to the Soros family are not ‘Corporate PACs’ they are billionaire / ideological super PACs.

Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II are super PACs funded mainly by George Soros, Geosor Corp. and the Fund for Policy Reform (an Open Society-related nonprofit).
As of mid-2026 they had taken in more than $102 million and passed tens of millions to Senate Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, American Bridge, J Street Action Fund, and others.
A super PAC can take unlimited money from a billionaire or even a corporation and spend unlimited amounts on ads for or against candidates, or dump money into other Democratic super PACs.
Senate Majority PAC – which has taken $9 million from Democracy PAC this cycle – is reportedly backing El-Sayed.
The U.S. Senate candidate is also fundraising in San Francisco soliciting donations from the millionaires and billionaires he claims to be against.

If El-Sayed can tell Michigan with a straight face that he’s getting money out of politics, why is the next stop a West Hollywood living room belonging to George Soros’s family and packed with mutli-millionaires?
