Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter is making more moves, the latest coming as Twitter is doing away with its Covid-19 misinformation policy, according to a note added to the Twitter’s website,
“Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 misleading information policy,” the company stated on its transparency page for coronavirus misinformation.
In addition, the COVID-19 policy is no longer listed on Twitter’s, “How we address misinformation on Twitter” explainer, and the URL for the misinformation policy now redirects to Twitter’s Help Center.
The move is part of Musk’s plan to ensure that there is free speech on the platform and recently took to Twitter to emphasize how important free speech is saying, “This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead,”

In 2020, Twitter developed an extensive set of rules that prohibiting what they called “harmful misinformation” about the virus and its vaccines. Most all of that ‘misinformation’ has now been proven to be true.
In the first nine months of 2022, Twitter suspended more than 11,000 accounts, and removed almost 100,000 pieces of content in their attempt to censor and cancel any view that did not go along with the liberal narrative. Doctors and scientists were also banned as the platform did not allow for any ‘second opinion’ from accredited doctors and scientists.
Last week, Musk promised to reinstate most all accounts that were banned on Twitter including those that were banned due to censorship of opposing views.
During the pandemic, Musk repeatedly said the draconian stay-at-home restrictions should be lifted saying they violated peoples right during a Tesla earnings call,
“I would call it, ‘forcibly imprisoning people in their homes’ against all their Constitutional rights, in my opinion, and breaking people’s freedoms in ways that are horrible and wrong and not why people came to America or built this country. It’s an outrage.”
When Musk was approached by a person saying people could die if they didn’t follow public health recommendations, he brilliantly answered “Everybody dies.”
