According to reports, several different witnesses at a news conference held by Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker said they heard a protester call Walker a racial slur.
One photographer said they heard a man who identified himself as Maceo Fletcher yell,
“This is all a stunt. He’s nothing but a house n—–.”
Other witnesses also say they heard the racial slur including several of walkers campaign staff members and numerous bystanders.
Walker was holding the press conference to shine a light on the evictions that are reportedly happening at the hands of Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock’s church in Atlanta.
The campaign event was held at the apartment building, Columbia Towers, that is primarily owned by Warnock’s church.
When asked to repeat his comments, according to Fox, Fletcher, along with many mainstream media outlets such as CNN and CBS, ignored the questions.
At the event, Walker asked,
“Where in Matthew 25 does it say that you can evict people who are struggling?”
Warnock receives a $120,000 salary from the church, and a more than $7,000 housing allowance in addition to his $174,000 congressional salary.
According to a recently release poll, Walker is tied with Warnock with three weeks left until election day.
