Hundreds Of Shark Fins found At Restaurant In Texas

The owners of a seafood restaurant in San Antonio are being charged after game wardens found nearly 400 shark fins.

A K-9 Team alerted the Wardens who then discovered 381 whole shark fins and an another 29 lbs of frozen shark fins in one of the restaurant’s commercial freezers.

This is against the law in Texas as Governor Greg Abbott signed a law back in 2015 banning the trade, sale, purchase and transportation of shark fins in the state.

Governor Abbott siging the law to make sure that Texas would not be part of the global fin trade, that trade that believed to be responsible for the declining shark population.

All shark fins were seized as evidence.
