#new The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirms a pretty important detail in the r*pe allegation against Rep. Eric Swalwell made by Lonna Drewes.
Officials say the alleged r*pe took place in July 2018 at a business in the 900 block of Hammond Street, which is the address of the Montrose Hotel in West Hollywood.
FEC filings show “Swalwell for Congress” spent $361 in travel expenses at the Montrose Hotel on July 18, 2018.
This places Swalwell at the exact hotel on a date within the month the Sheriff’s office says the assault took place.
Drewes described meeting Swalwell socially that year while working in Southern California.
She said he offered political connections to help her business and invited her to a political event.
On what she called their third meeting, they had drinks. Drewes said she had just one glass of wine but soon felt incapacitated and believes her drink was drugged.
Swalwell told her he needed to grab paperwork from his hotel room before the event. Once there, she claims he r*ped and choked her until she lost consciousness.
“While he was choking me, I lost consciousness and I thought I died.”
She has stated repeatedly that she did not consent to any s*xual activity.
Drewes said she did not get a r*pe kit at the time but told close friends and family right away, wrote about it in a handwritten calendar and journal entries, and talked about it in therapy.
She also has text messages and photographs from the period.
This is the fifth woman to accuse Swalwell of s*xual misconduct or assault.
Earlier reports detailed claims from four other women, including former staffers who said he forced himself on them when they were too intoxicated to consent.
Swalwell denies all claims.
