Zohran Mamdani is failing to deliver on every promise, and is in fact succeeding in doing the exact opposite of everything he campaigned on:
Rents have skyrocketed to record highs, $11 Billion has left the state, subway fees have increased, his taxpayer funded grocery stores are set to cost over $30 million and put migrant grocers out of business, subway fairs have increased and so much more in Zohran Mamdani’s New York after he promised ‘everything for free’

Critics point out that this is how socialism / communism actually works – working class people pay the price while the political elite, who wear $3,000 watches, and travel out of the country on first class flights for islamic ‘peace’ festivals, live the high life.

Fast Facts:
🔷️Median rents in Manhattan hit an all-time high of $5,099 in April 2026, up 6% from the year before
🔷️Citywide median rents for a one-bedroom hit a record $3,785 in February.
🔷️This comes despite Mamdani’s repeated promises during his 2025 mayoral campaign to freeze rents for tenants in rent-stabilized units, which make up about one million apartments – mostly occupied by foreign born migrants.
🔷️Mamdani proposed higher taxes on corporations and high earners to fund his socialist agenda – causing millionaires to leave the state which has already seen an $11 billion loss in income tax revenue in one year alone.
🔷️The top 1% of earners, who already pay 44% of state income taxes, have been heading to no-income-tax states like Florida and Texas.
🔷️Conservatives point to New York’s already record high tax rates, including the city’s 14.8% combined rate, plus crime, regulations, and Mamdani’s tax-the-rich rhetoric as causing more millionaires to flee and with them that 44% of the total tax revenue.
🔷️Mamdani also promised free buses and lower transportation costs.
🔷 Yet the MTA board approved a fare hike effectively raising the base subway and local bus fare from 3.4% to 20%.
Meanwhile Mamdani and his officials are getting 20% raises even though his budget tops $125 billion. He had to get a $10 billion bailout from Governor Hochul and raided the pension funds for teachers, police, firefighters, education workers, and other city employees to balance the 2027 budget.
Republicans want to know… how is that socialism working out for New Yorkers?
