Man Who Stopped Michigan Walmart Stabber – Being Hailed A Hero For His Actions

Derrick Perry – a concealed carry permit holder – is being called a hero for stopping a stabbing attack that happened at a Walmart in Michigan

11 people were stabbed during the attack in Traverse City, six of them critically.

Perry was shopping with his family when the 32-year-old suspect started stabbing people in the store.

The local hearo used a store shelf for cover, tackled the suspect, and held him at gunpoint, demanding he drop the weapon.

The suspect eventually dropped his weapon and Perry continued to hold him at gunpoint until police arrived.

Perry is being praised for his quick thinking that officials say saved lives  -he has a background in security training.

City officials plan to honor him with a Community Hero Award, and a GoFundMe has been launched to support the victims.

Many are now pointing to the importance of men and armed civilians in society to stop attacks from escalating.
