President Claudia Sheinbaum reportedly instructed her police force to attack protesters with force, in order to move them back from the presidential palace after they breached the wall.
The uprising is against Mexico’s socialist regime as thousands of Generation Z’ers launched the nationwide protest tearing down barricades at the National Palace and clashing with riot police.
Protesters say Sheinbaum is a “Narco-President” accusing her administration of protecting cartels that control Mexico.
What started as localized outrage in the cartel-controlled state of Michoacán has now snowballed into a full-blown national revolt, ignited by the ass*ssination of Uru-apan Mayor Carlos Manzo.
Manzo was an anti-cartel politician who was gunned down in a hit that many say was carried out by the Cartels and directed by Sheinbaum.
Manzo’s murder, comes as violence is escalating in Mexico with more than 130,000 m*rders under the leftist Morena rule.
Protesters claim the assassination exposed Sheinbaum’s “hugs not bullets” policy as a cover for protecting the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels.
Manzo was killed by cartel assasins in broad daylight after he publicly begged Sheinbaum to unleash the military against the Cartel extortion rackets in Michoacán’s avocado heartland.
Manzo was seen as a rising political threat against Sheinbaum in her own Moreno party.
Protests erupted immediately, with locals blocking highways and torching cartel-linked vehicles, chanting “Fuera Narcos, Fuera Sheinbaum!” (Out with the Narcos, Out with Sheinbaum!).
By midday Saturday, about 50,000 Gen Z’ers – flooded Mexico City’s historic Zócalo square, waving Mexican flags and signs reading “Narco-Gobierno Renuncia!” (Narco-Government Resign!).
They demolished the armored “wall of shame” that was put up around the National Palace, built to protect Sheinbaum from her own people.
